August 2009 update

Hello everyone! Just a little update for you all. I'm horrible at keeping up with this thing..lol.

So much to report...we've had a busy summer!

* Ty is about to finish summer quarter at school. He is doing really well, he's been on the Deans list every quarter except for one since he started back to school. I am so blessed to have such a great husband who works so hard to support our family. He is amazing and I can't imagine my life without him. He is the man of my dreams and I love him so much.

* I am staying busy with the kids and my jewelry making business. I have 2 websites currently that I run and it is exciting to use my creativity. I recently was in an art fair in Urbana, Ohio where my shop was featured on the front page of the local paper...exciting stuff for a new shop.

* Lance has had a busy summer of playing at friends houses and learning all kids of new things. He started cub scouts in April and loves it. He has already completed the first 2 levels of cub scout and the next one he's not supposed to start till he's 9...lol so we'll work on extras till then. Lance is getting ready to start 3rd grade. He's growing up so fast.

* Garrett is a busy 6 1/2 yr old. He loves to play with his brother and play outside. They love to catch bugs and play in the dirt...he's such a typical boy..lol. Garrett is going into first grade this year and is really excited about being one of the big kids.

* Hailey is doing well. She is getting ready to start Kindergarten in a couple weeks. She is really excited to finally be going to school with the boys. We did find out this week that she needs glasses. She is extremely near-sighted and one of her eyes is starting to cross from the constant strain. The eye doctor said that because we caught it early that it hopefully can be corrected with glasses. She is excited about the glasses, hopefully she stays excited that she'll be able to see once she gets them. Her 5th birthday is also coming up on Monday the 17th. We have a small party planned, hopefully the weather cooperates.

* Hannah is growing up so fast. She will be 2 next month and is getting more of a personality every day. She is now talking alot more and even starting the potty training process. She is so excited to be running with the older kids and gets upset when she just can't keep up. They are good with including her, hopefully that keeps up as they get older.

Other than all that..lol our family has had a busy summer. We painted the dining room last weekend, it looks much better. We've also taken trips to Ohio Caverns which was alot of fun for the kids. They got to "mine" for gems and arrowheads in a real working mine they have on site. They had so much fun finding all their treasures. We have really enjoyed our summer but we are also glad that school starts soon. Our kids love having a schedule where they know when and where things are happening, so school is good for them.

We hope that everyone is doing well. We miss our out of state family so much and are hoping to make a trip out west to see everyone in the Spring if time off school allows us to do it.

Family Update for July 2009

Not much has been going on for our family since I updated last. Ty is still working full time at the base as a civilian, but has found out recently that he will be able to re-enlist in the USMC. We have 95% of the paperwork submitted and all he needs now is a DoD doctor to agree with the findings of the civilian surgeon that we've already seen and he will be back in our Corps!...I have been busy with my jewelry business. I just participated in the Urbana Ohio Art Affair in the Square and we did really really well.......Kids are doing great, they have been having alot of fun being out of school this summer, but I am ready for school to start....we will have 3 kids in school in August and I'm going to throw a party....lol. Here is the newest picture we have of the kids, it was taken on Mothers Day. Lance hates getting his picture taken, can you tell?!!! LOL.... Hope everyone is doing well.

Well things have been exciting around here. We've been having alot of fun. The girls got tutu's today, my friend Dina makes them and they turned out really cute :D I hadn't taken a new picture of all the kids lately so I did that today. I can't believe they were all looking at the camera and all smiles :D Hannah has grown up so much lately and is starting to say more words. Hailey is being such a big helper with anything and everything she gets her hands on. Garrett is starting to read (can't believe he's getting so big), and Lance is learning cursive handwriting which he's really excited about and he lost his 2nd tooth last night. Ty and I have been busy as always. He's in the middle of Winter Quarter for school and I've been busy with the kids and making jewelry. I've made a bunch of pieces lately, and actually sold a couple which was pretty exciting. I've also been asked to make jewelry for a friend thats getting married, so thats another challenge for me in the near future. We are hopefully going to be doing some more remodeling to the house this year, not sure what yet, depends on how much time we can find in our crazy lives. We hope everyone is doing well and that life is being good to you all.

Finally feeling better!

Well its been a long week in the house. It all started last Wednesday when Garrett started getting sick. He missed school that day and I braced for the worst. We got a big snow storm come in that day and canceled schools for the next 2 days. During those 2 days Hailey got sick on Thursday night and Hannah in the wee hours (1am) Friday morning. I was up for 36 hours (Thursday morning-Friday night) with sick kids. After going most of the day on Friday with no one vomiting we thought maybe it would skip Lance. But low and behold Saturday morning Lance started getting sick. He was only sick for a few hours and then it was done. Ty and I were the hold outs. I started feeling Ill on Sunday night through Monday night. We got lucky with it being a holiday weekend that we had 5 total days off school so the kids didn't really miss any time off for being sick. Ty was lucky and seems to have escaped it for the most part. He's lucky, becuase it was horrible and I'm soooo glad we won't have to do that again for a while I hope.

Other than illness sweeping the family things here are good. As seen in previous posts I have another blog for my jewelry making. I'm not a pro by any means, but its a fun hobby, and if I can make a few dollars doing it, great! I've been staying pretty busy with that and the kids. Ty started back to school in the beginning of January and is doing that and working full time so he's always busy with something. The kids aren't in any sports yet, we're considering baseball in the spring for the boys, and possibly a ballet class for Hailey. I think I'm going to let her try it a couple times and if she likes it I'll sign her up. I am very sick of snow and ready for spring to finally get here, only 2-3 more months till we're done with snow. Hope all is well with all of you.

Snow, Snow and more Snow!

Well we got some snow today...I think we're up to about 4-5 inches. The kids went out to play in the front yard which was covered in it. Garrett didn't get to go out though, he's been sick all day, so we'll post more pics after he's feeling better and gets to go out too.
